Sorry for my silence...

It's been a busy week :( I haven't finished my caloric intake for today so I will post that Monday or Tuesday at the latest.  Lots to read so I'll let you get to it!

4/29/11

All-in-all today was not a great day.  Weigh in didn’t go so well, I’m only down 2lbs. which upset me so breakfast was at McD’s.  I tried to go healthy with oatmeal but accidentally ordered the Sausage, Egg & Cheese Biscuit, hash brown and OJ.  I should have known then that my day would go downhill from there.

I went up to Watertown today to get my bike out of storage, clean my recliner (which is in storage), and fill a prescription.  I thought I’d be nice and take my mom out for lunch while I was there.  Called her up and she was just heading out to help a friend so I told her to give me a call when she was done and we’d go get something to eat.  About 4 hours later I gave her a call to see where she was because I was STARVING and she said, “OMG I forgot!  I’m so sorry!  I just got so busy with my friend and then I was trying to make sure I had someone to till the garden and… (I quit listening)”.

I got home tried to fix the back brake on my bike only to snap the bolt holding the brake line in place.  I gave up, made a bag of popcorn (side note:  I realized I was counting my popcorn calories wrong which brightened my day some) and watched Ghost Ship for the 50th time.  Of course, while making the popcorn I stepped onto my kitchen rug and about hit the floor yet again so while watching my movie I stitched bits of cupboard liner to the bottom (the bubbly non-skid stuff).  Around 1a I went in to bed only to find the mound of laundry I’d forgotten to fold earlier.  So, around 2a I crawled into bed and was out within minutes, which is something I’m not used to but was eternally grateful for.

My weekend will be spent studying for finals on Monday.  OH THE HORROR!  Not really, only have 2 finals Monday and one of those is dressing up as Charlie Chaplin for Makeup class.  Of course I am expected to be in the Design Lab on Thursday to help clean it up even though I have been one of the few who actually took the time to clean it up after every class.  What does that matter?  It doesn’t, of course!

To finish up the day I went to “Showcase” which displays the talents of the Theatre Department including Makeup Application, Costume Crafts, Stage Crafts, and Intro to Acting student’s scenes that were considered top of their class.

Tomorrow is the Alpha Psi Omega banquet which I have been invited to by my Costume Crafts professor.  While I am sure it will be a lot of fun, I really have no interest in attending.  I can’t afford $20/plate prices and don’t dance in public so there really isn’t any reason for me to attend.  Not to mention I don’t own a dress or dressy clothing and I’ve seen most of the dresses intended for the party.  There is no way I am going to be humiliated by going in jeans, a t-shirt and dirty sneakers.  Best of luck to those nominated for awards, though.

4/26/11

Well, today started off very interestingly.  I got to be the victim of 6 boys in my Makeup class.  First, I was laid out on a table in the Scene Shop, had a towel wrapped around my head and paper towels stuffed around to make sure the towel stayed relatively clean.  Then, after shoving straws up my nose, they frosted me like a muffin (with liquid latex instead of frosting, mind you) and then poured Plaster of Paris on top of that.  Let me tell you, it felt like a spa day… until they started bumping the straws!  When the mold finally came off there was actually blood in the nose of it.  Of course, when I was still in the mold they didn’t understand my Pictionary hand gestures so they continued bumping until the plaster was on.  All in all I think it turned out pretty well.  You could even see the wrinkles around my eyes.  I was impressed.

As it has been a long day and I have lots to do yet again tomorrow, I will just say my exercise was thrown off due to the weather but I will be taking advantage of tomorrows reported beautiful sunshine.  Let’s just hope it shows up!  Now I will get on with it so I can attempt to get a good night of sleep…

  1. Exercise actually has a strong anti hunger effect to it. I also find that on days I do not exercise I tend to eat more.

    Not too bad on the food intake. A few mess ups here and there but over all the count has been good.

    I hope your finals week goes well. I have had three races in the past two weeks and have a marathon in two more weeks, so my running is weight down. Of course I'm simply replacing the running with studying, or writing this darn 10 page paper :(
