4/18/11

Found out today that my gramma has had a few falls and the people around her are having hissy fits over the fact that her family can't be there 24/7 to take care of her so I may end up forfeiting my trip to Australia in order to be able to afford spending weekends with her this summer.  While it is upsetting that I may have to give up a trip I've been dreaming of for over 10 years, it would be for a good cause.  I will have to work it out with my family whether or not it will be necessary but at this point it is a serious thought.

I went to the clinic Monday for a weigh in and found I've lost another 3lbs which brings me to a grand total of 44lbs to date.  I am noticing more changes.  I'm down from size 28 to a size 22 pants, I have some serious muscle going on in my lower back and the muscles on the front of my thighs are FREAKING AWESOME!  Thank you for all of your support.  It is greatly appreciated and keeps me honest with my diet (check out the cookie count) and exercise and it shows.

GRRRRRRRRR!  So I tried to go for a bike ride today.  I spent 2 hours trying to fix my bike’s rear break (it snapped 2 weeks after purchase, stolen 2 days after and returned a year later almost to the day) but ended up removing the break system all together.  I figured the front break works fine so I should be able to go for a couple hours ride, right?  WRONG!  5 minutes into my ride I realized my tires were basically flat, there was about 10lbs of pressure in the back tire and maybe 18lbs in the front tire - excellent workout, not so great for the bike itself.  I got them filled up to the proper pressure and headed out again.  I got a little over 15 minutes more into my ride before my right pedal broke, I continued for a little over an hour before I got fed up and WALKED my bike home.  How sad is it that a person has to walk a bike?  Lazy freaking bike! L I was so angry I walked it straight to the dumpster… and tossed it in. J  Then went in and had a big bowl of ice cream to sooth my frazzled nerves.  No regrets on this ‘slip’.  I did some work with weights and a little Pilates to make up for what I missed out on with the shortened bike ride.

What a beautiful day!  I spent over 3 hours out enjoying the sunshine.  I was a little sorer than I expected to be.  Let me just say my butt muscles HURT!  I didn’t realize how little my exercises worked them.  It was a bit of a surprise.  On the up side, I stopped by the clinic and weighed in to find I’ve lost another 3lbs.  Not as many as I would like, as usual, but it is a loss and considering all of the slips I had over the past week it does come as an encouraging surprise.
